Forever Home Addition

A thoughtfully designed addition to a single-family forever home, built to grow with the family across generations. The expansion includes two new bedrooms and bathrooms, a full kitchen, living room, and a bunk room for grandchildren — creating a self-sufficient yet connected extension of the original home. A glass-enclosed corridor links the addition directly to the garage, providing seamless interior access throughout.

The backyard emerged as an equally important design challenge. Drawing inspiration from European plazas, it was reimagined as a suburban gathering space — generous enough to host the whole family for outdoor events and celebrations. Landscaping is intentionally restrained, with native Southern Californian plants in raised planters to minimize water use. Dual sliding doors connect the living room directly to the plaza, dissolving the boundary between indoor comfort and outdoor life.
